    With this resolution, climate change is put for the first time in history on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly. At the same time, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is appointed, which will write the IPCC reports. Thanks to the IPCC, climate change and mitigation measures can be supported by scientific and independent evidence.
