• 2014 | IPCC AR5 Synthesis Report: Climate Change 2014

    content

The report concludes that scientists are certain, with 95% confidence, that humans are causing additional warming. The report lays out that the oceans, land and atmosphere are warming, snow and ice are melting and sea levels are rising.

The report also states that to have a chance of limiting warming to 2°C, greenhouse gas emissions would have to be reduced by 40-70% by 2050 and the ongoing burning of fossil fuels would have to be ended by 2100.

This research lays the groundwork for the Paris Agreement (2015).
